All though, seals are really cute, there are so many more reasons to like them! I am going introduce you to the world of these adorable creatures, and hopefully you'll find your own reason to fall in love with them!

SWIMMING
ABILITIES

Seals love water, as it is their natural environment, they can hold their breath up to 30 minutes. They are also really good swimmers, but when it comes to moving around on the ground they have to wobble around on their bellies, because their flippers aren’t long enough. As I mentioned earlier, seals can swim really well, they can swim up to 25 km/h, but their usual speed is 8–12 km/h.

SLEEPING
UNDERWATER

seal

When seals get lazy, they can use their ability to “sleep” underwater. So when they get tired and they’re too lazy to get on the shore, they just hold their breath and take a nap in the ocean. When they run out of air, they swim up to the surface to take a few breaths, without fully waking up, so their naps don’t get interrupted. This works because seals can keep a half of their brain awake so they can function normally, while the other half is asleep.
